Blue Apatite Man in the Moon Antiqued Silver Necklace

  • $ 2950

I combined a natural teal blue apatite rectangle bead with dangling moon and star silver alloy charms. I then added a silver man in the moon charm to an antiqued silver plated rope chain to make a closed lariat style necklace. The chain is approximately 25 inches long.

Some European myths claim that the man in the moon is an exile who was banished for crimes committed, while other cultures say he is as a guardian who watches over us. The Inuits believe he is the keeper of souls, both men and animals. Whatever your beliefs, this image has been used for countless centuries in art and legend.

Strangely enough, apatite is used mainly in the manufacture of fertilizer, as it is a source of phosphorus. Some types of apatite do fluoresce under black light. The blue and green varieties of apatite are often used as gemstones. The blue variety is called moroxite. Moon rocks brought back by astronauts from the Apollo missions contain traces of apatite.

Apatite can heal the heart and the spirit. It increases self-confidence and helps to achieve higher levels of meditation and clarity. Apatite is also useful in the process of letting go of someone or something from the past that no longer has a place in your life.

Blue apatite can enhance understanding in group situations and helps bring people together to work in a harmonious and productive way. It can increase creativity and imagination. An apatite under your pillow may bring subconscious solutions to problems upon wakening.
