Black Onyx Scrying Glass with Silver Star Pentacle Zodiac Pendant Necklace
I added an oxidized silver plated pentacle star and zodiac pendant to the bail of a natural black onyx stone disc. This comes with a 24 inch silver plated chain. The disc is approximately 40mm in diameter. The star pendant has zodiac signs and phases of the moon. This can also be worn with the blank onyx side facing out. Wear as a pendant or use as a scrying glass.
Onyx is a chalcedony quartz that has a fine texture and black color; however some onyx also displays white bands or ribbons against a black or brown background. It can help detach from emotions such as sorrow and grief and may be used to end unhappy or bothersome relationships. It is often beneficial for letting go of attachments and releasing you from the past. It is valuable in difficult times and enhances the self.
Onyx is a grounding stone as well as a balancing one. It is reputed to improve concentration and devotion and is often used in rosaries. Onyx jewelry can be worn to defend and deflect against negativity. It is said to effectively ward off evil. It is also supposed to cure nightmares and other harmful threats to the psyche.
The star is a symbol of balance in the way that each element balances with the other. The upward point of the star represents Spirit. The other four points each represent an element; earth, air, fire, and water. The ancient Greeks believed that all of these reside in everything.
The Zodiac represents an imaginary belt in the heavens and includes the positions of the sun, moon, and most of the planets. It is divided into twelve equal divisions or signs which are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces.
A Scrying glass is used to see things psychically, to obtain spiritual visions and messages, and also for purposes of divination or fortune-telling. It is often used as a means of divining the past, present, or future. Scrying is actively used by many cultures and belief systems and is not limited to one tradition or ideology.
